Have you ever tried
Schweinebraten und Knödel (pork roast with dumplings) or
Obatzda und Brez'n (a spiced, creamy cheese mixture and pretzels) or
Dampfnudeln und Auszog'ne (yeast cakes steamed or deep-fried)?
These are just a view of the many yummy dishes you can try in Munich. As there are countless restaurants and beer gardens in Munich, I have listed several below, where you can be sure to find authentic, good food. And if you aren't sure what all these funny things are on the menu, you can check in my little culinary dictionary!

Neuhauserstr. 27 - city center
You can either sit in the beer hall (left entrance) or the restaurant (right side) and enjoy real turn-of-the-century atmosphere, as the interior has been carefully restored. Maybe you can even get a table in the unique Muschelsaal, a room underneath a glass cupola decorated with shells!
Traditional Bavarian cooking and beer from one of the finest (and oldest) breweries in Munich.
Burgstr. 5 - city center
Don't miss this location: the house is a medieval building with unique features, also the interior still shows the ancient background. The Bavarian/Austrian food is fresh and tasty, how about a Backhendl Salat, a mixed salad topped with fried chicken?
Am Platzl 9 - city centre
No need to explain the most famous Gasthaus in the world, I guess... Sit back, watch and enjoy. In the summer there is also a nice Biergarten.
Dreifaltigkeitsplatz 1 - city centre
Right next to the famous Viktualienmarkt (food market) you can especially enjoy Bratwürstl (fried sausages) here, fresh from the barbeque. Sit in the ancient building dating back to 1633 or unwind in their Biergarten.
Der Pschorr
Located at the Southern end of the Viktualienmarkt you can enjoy fine Bavarian cooking at the Pschorr (also the name of one of Munich's oldest beer breweries) or simply have a beer in the Biergarten overlooking the bustle at this traditional market
Westenrieder Straße 14 - city centre
a traditional Munich inn, where locals and tourists alike enjoy good food at reasonable prices
Dreifaltigkeitsplatz 3 - city centre
A hidden gem behind the Viktualienmarkt. Be sure to make reservations as this small, cozy place has limited capacity only. But then you will find fine Bavarian cooking at its best.
Pfisterstr. 4 - city centre
If you want to treat yourself to some really fine Bavarian food in a historic setting - here's the place to eat! Delicious fresh food, perfect service and an atmosphere that's hard to beat.
